Do you think hes acting different because he found out?

this guy i know well he use to come over and have with me. Then he stopped and anyways i guess he was talking about me to one of his friends and his friend stole my number out of his phone. His friend was constantly texting me he came over twice and then he asked to come over again we set a time and everything but he never called back or showed up for the date. I text my old buddy and he finally wants to come over again he says he knows about the guy taking my number that the guy told him.i think it might be a different mutual friend that i told her his friend stole my num and was texting me i guess the same day the new guy started ignoring me this girl was talking to my old buddy. Now the guy who stole my num wont answer my texts and didnt show up for date do you think he told my old buddy or she did? Do you think the reason my old buddy came over is because he found out and was jeolous? He said he thinks the guy is a good guy but wont trust him again.
